Ingredients sparkling sugar cookies
1/2 cup softened shortening
1 cup sugar
1 tsp grated lemon peel OR vanilla extract
1 egg
2 tbsp milk
2 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
how to make sparkling sugar cookies
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Mix butter & sugar.
Add dry ingredients and blend well.
Using a tsp., drop dough onto baking sheets about 2" apart.
Grease the bottom of a glass and dip in sugar. Flatten each cookie with the glass, dipping the bottom in sugar each time you flatten.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
