Ingredients custard pie


4 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
2 1/2 cup milk
1 ground nutmeg
1 9" pie crust

how to make custard pie


Cover pie crust with tin foil and bake in a 450°F oven for 8 minutes. then remove foil and reduce oven to 350 and bake pie shell for 4-5 minutes longer till firm and set.


Meanwhile, for filling. In a mixing bowl beat eggs slightly, stir in sugar, vanilla and salt. Gradually add milk and mix well.


Place the partially baked pie crust on the oven rack. Carefully pour filling into the crust. Sprinkling with the ground nutmeg.


To prevent over browning, cover edge of pie with foil. Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes. Remove foil. Bake for 15-20 minutes longer or until knife in center comes out clean.


Cool on wire rack for 1 n 2 hours. Refrigerate, covered, within 2 hours.
