v scottish steak pie

Ingredients v scottish steak pie


1 lb stewing steak diced
2 large onions chopped
6 skinless link sausages (optional)
1 large frozen puff pastry
1 knorr beef stock pot
4 tsp gravy granules
1 salt&pepper to taste
1 egg
1 pie funnel (optional)

how to make v scottish steak pie


brown steak in pan drain off any fat.


add chopped onion


mix 4tsp gravy granules in 1/2 pt hot water and add to pot.


add knorr stock pot.


simmer beef until tender. about 1 1/2 hrs


add sausage half way thro cooking


transfer to appropriate sized pie dish and put pie funnel in middle of meat


wet rim of pie dish and cover with pastry


make hole so funnel pops thro to let steam out


beat egg and brush over pastry


bake in preheated oven 180 until pastry is golden brown
